MARTA PALOMBO RELEASES OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “FORGET WHAT THEY SEE”

Nashville, TN (March 20, 2020) – Folk-Pop singer/songwriter Marta Palombo recently released the official video for her current single “Forget What They See” from her new EP Him, Vol. 1. You can watch the video HERE!

With romantic lyrics like forget what they see, it’s you and it’s me, fools we may be, but I still believe, “Forget What They See” describes a love story many listeners can relate to.

“The song was inspired by my own experience with people giving me unsolicited advice about my relationship,” Marta explains. “Forget What They See refers to the idea that no one knows your relationship better than you do, so don’t think too hard about what other people think. The colors are soft and muted, with beautiful floral details — all a perfect setup for the ending in my ‘dream’ world, where I can be with who I love free of judgement.”

About Marta Palombo:
If Joni Mitchell and Florence + The Machine had a 21st century hippie daughter, it would be Marta Palombo. Hailing from Florence, Italy, she found her home in Nashville, Tennessee where she spends her time writing, recording, performing, and curating a cabinet full of local teas. Marta effortlessly weaves diverse influences and genres into her own unique blend of off-kilter folk-pop.

Initially honing her wordsmithing and performance skills through poetry, Marta found nationwide recognition as Poetry Out Loud’s 2016 Georgia State Champion and National Runner-Up. After moving to Nashville, she geared her talents towards writing music full- time, releasing a steady stream of covers in English and Italian, as well as original compositions.

Marta has already made quite a name for herself in Music City, garnering a very loyal fan base. She’s played at well-known venues like Café CoCoTrue Music Room & BarCommodore GrilleBowery VaultTwo Old HippiesBoulevard RecordsJust Love Coffee, and Belcourt Taps. In addition, Marta has added both the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and Bridgestone Arena, where she sang back-up for Josh Groban, to her impressive musical resume.

Marta’s biggest hit came from an acoustic cover of LP’s 2015 single, “Lost On You”, soon followed by her debut extended play: 2016’s Revisions. Half personal introspection and half mission statement, the EP evokes imagery of halcyon days with hopes for the best of times to come, and a willingness to revel in the unknown, no matter the consequences. The single “Sparrows” followed in 2017, as well as two new songs in 2018: the soul-baring ballad titled “Bitter End” and the bubbly, optimistic “Gold.”

Admiring her roots while simultaneously eschewing the traditional notions of what a singer/songwriter should be is paramount to who Marta Palombo is as an artist. She has an ever-growing passion for telling life’s stories, big and small, and always has upcoming plans on the horizon. “Him” is Marta’s first release since 2018.

Recorded in partnership with Peter Fox from Stone House Recordings, the songs feature a unique blend of emotive string and choral arrangements juxtaposed with driving drum patterns and gripping vocals.

“This album is a story of despair and redemption,” Matthew explains. “…a walk down into the darkest corners of the soul – and the courage it takes to climb out.”

About Matthew McCloskey:
Matthew McCloskey is an indie-pop singer/songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Described as “if Ryan Adams and Ben Folds had a baby,” Matthew combines captivating piano instrumentation with heartfelt lyrics about feeling lost, confused or stuck. Raised in the suburbs of Detroit, MI, Matthew developed a deep disdain for the ordinary as well a gnawing hunger for adventure in his early years as a musician. “I kept looking around at the people around me, at the 9-to-5 lives they had chosen… and thinking…Is this as good as it gets?

SAM VARGA RELEASES DEBUT EP

Nashville, TN (March 6, 2020) – Kentucky native and singer/songwriter Sam Varga recently released his debut EP, “Light Me Up.” You can listen to the album HERE!

“Light Me Up is the product of two blurry years of living and songwriting in Nashville,” Sam explains. “The album is a combustion of rock dynamics, Nashville song craft, and emo one-liners.”

A self-deprecating wit flows through the entire album as Sam addresses bouts of depression, failed relationships, and the beauty and truth in between. The EP kicks off with the single Mayday, an emo anthem infused with pedal steel and ends with a nonchalant and brutal work tape of A Better Word.  More light-hearted tracks like Sex & Whiskeyensure every heart string gets plucked on the way down the album.

Sam will also be hosting an EP release show at The Loading Dock in Nashville, TN on Friday, March 13. The show will feature performances by Matt Koziol and Nicole Miller and is open to all ages. All proceeds will be donated to Tennessee tornado victims.

“Light Me Up” represents the beginning of Sam’s journey, but pulls no punches as to who he is and what he’s capable of as a writer and artist.

About Sam Varga:
With just two short years in Nashville, Sam has already established himself as serious writer and dynamic performer. Coming up in the fast-paced punk scenes of his high school days and the Blues of Austin TX, there is an edge and energy that makes his songs stand out in Music City. After quickly coming up through the writing ranks, he first turned his attention to his artist career with his debut single “Sex & Whiskey”. His follow up single “Mayday” was met with great acclaim and the promise of his debut EP “Light Me Up.”  Sam’s sound and writing style is self described as “someone like Jackson Browne who grew up listening to a lot of punk.”

SHANNON QUINN RELEASES NEW SINGLE

Nashville, TN (February 12, 2020) – Nashville-based singer/songwriter Shannon Quinn recently released her newest single, “Reminded.” You can listen to the song HERE!

With anguished, yet relatable lyrics like it was picture perfect, that’s how you put it, and for a while, I believed it too, it was more than worth it, til it got catastrophic and I’m left with the ghost of you, “Reminded” will tug on the heartstrings of those who’ve experienced their own love story.

“This song came to me while I was supposed to be working on my junior recital repertoire in college – about 2 years ago,” Shannon explains. “It was probably 12 or 1am and I just couldn’t focus on the music I was supposed to be practicing. I just kept thinking about past emotions, memories, and mistakes. Finally, I gave up practicing and wrote this song. I guess it sparked from me literally avoiding anything that would remind me of this person or incident. I was trying so hard to avoid the pain and heartache that I ran from it. Just like real life, you can only run so far before your legs give out and I think that’s what happened here. I was avoiding the memories too much, when I just needed to face them and face how I coped with the heartache.”

About Shannon Quinn:
Born and raised in the small town of Saint Thomas, Pennsylvania, Shannon Quinn grew up on a ten acre “mini farm” with cows, chickens and the occasional pigeon. Her artistry began around the age of twelve when she became influenced by Taylor Swift. Reading articles and watching videos helped spark Shannon’s idea to start writing songs – and she hasn’t stopped since.

Shannon taught herself to play guitar and began performing at local fairs and karaoke contests. She graduated from college with a degree in Vocal Performance in May 2019 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee three weeks later. A natural on stage and a true Country/Americana artist, Shannon shares her songs for all to hear. She is currently working on several projects and plans to release an EP later this year.

MARTA PALOMBO RELEASES NEW SINGLE

Nashville, TN (February 7, 2020) – Folk-Pop singer/songwriter Marta Palombo recently released her new single “Him.” You can listen to the song HERE!

With relatable, yet dramatic lyrics like your picket white fence of a dream is all in your mind, the pedestal you’ve given me is miles too high, trying to be perfect, God, you know I’d love you if I just tried, “Him” paints a picture of a love story that just wasn’t meant to be.

“You know when you have a crush, and it steadily takes over? That’s what I was feeling at the time,” Marta explains. “I’ve been asked out a few times throughout the years, and I’m sure I could have been more graceful and eloquent about saying no, but the truth was…I really just wanted him. And when you want somebody else, another person asking you out can get pretty frustrating. Him is how that frustration came out – and I guess it gets a little passive aggressive.”
