Nashville, TN (September 27, 2024) – In a bold departure from her signature electrifying sound, country music firebrand Jacquie Roar delivers the gut-wrenching ballad Pass the Pain in honor of Suicide Prevention Month.

Inspired by the devastating loss of a close friend, “Pass the Pain” offers an unapologetically raw look at the aftermath of emotional abuse and mental health struggles. Roar’s poignant lyrics capture the heartbreaking consequences of a toxic relationship that led someone to their breaking point. With a chorus that hits like a freight train, Roar sings, “The light inside of you was burned out for so long / But you did what you did when you did / And all you’ve done is pass the pain on.”

The song is already generating significant buzz. Goldmine’s Warren Kurtz praised it as, “not only my favorite song of Jacquie’s so far, but also one of my favorite songs of 2024… the delicate backdrop of piano, acoustic guitar, and strings, paired with Jacquie’s melodic vocal runs, creates a powerful and honest recording. ‘Pass the Pain’ is award-worthy.”

Music City Melodies echoed similar sentiments, stating, “Roar’s vocals are absolutely captivating in ‘Pass the Pain.’ The vulnerability in her voice, combined with the stripped-down instrumentation, makes for a hauntingly beautiful track that cuts straight to the core. This song proves Jacquie is not only an incredible performer but also a masterful storyteller.”

“I wrote this song about my friend’s story,” says Roar. “He was trapped in an abusive relationship, and it became too much for him to bear. Surviving the loss of someone you love is never easy, and this song speaks to the pain left behind.”

“Pass the Pain” is more than just a song; it’s a heartfelt anthem for anyone who has experienced loss, a ballad that resonates long after the final note. With this release, Jacquie Roar showcases her remarkable ability to convey raw emotion while highlighting the critical importance of mental health awareness and support. Roar also encourages those in need to seek help, urging attention to the National Domestic Violence Hotline(1-800-799-7233) and the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988).
