DANGO ROSE RELEASES EP “BANJO POEMS”

Nashville, TN (January 22, 2021) – Singer/songwriter and co-founder of Elephant Revival, Dango Rose, recently released his EP entitled “Banjo Poems.” You can listen to it HERE!

The six-song EP will feature songs recorded by Dango between 2008 and 2009.  Only three hundred copies were printed and handed out to family and friends at the time.

“It is with gratitude and appreciation that I offer these songs to you. Banjo Poems reminds me of a sweet time in life. It was a simpler time, too,” Dango explains. “Most of these pieces were written in the autumn and recorded during the longest night of winter. The banjo, being an heirloom of the Civil War, maintained a sweet spot in between the key of B and C, falling naturally into a 432hz tuning.”

Dango released the first single from the album, “Night Resumes,” on December 18, 2020. It garnered press from the likes of Medium, Rock ‘N’ Load MagazineGrubs & Grooves, Volatile Weekly, The Mountain Ear, Music Update Central, Skope Magazine and more.

About Dango Rose:
Dango Rose embraces a passion for music as a vital healing influence and spiritual path. He creates and collaborates to support harmony and truth. Born with a poet’s soul and a warrior’s heart, his life’s journey has been one of transformation.

For seventeen years, Dango traveled nationally and internationally in touring bands. In 2006, he co-founded Elephant Revival and spent eleven years performing and recording with this influential outfit that pioneered the genre, Transcendental Folk. Rose penned band favorites like, When I Fall, The Pasture, Jet Lag Blues and others. Since Elephant Revival decided to go on hiatus in May 2018, Dango has taken refuge in the recording studio while focusing upon songwriting collaborations with various artists.  Here he melds his background in traditional forms with the more transformational elements of musical craft.  As journalist Marc Tonglen explains, “He reminds me of a cross between Leonard Cohen, Cat Stevens and Alan Parsons, while remaining deeply embedded in the progressive Indie-Folk scene.  His voice is distinctive, words penetrating and his arrangements — on the edge, yet engaging.”

LAYLA FRANKEL RELEASES NEW SINGLE “TLC”

Nashville, TN (January 15, 2021) – Nashville based singer/songwriter Layla Frankel recently released her new single “TLC.” You can listen to the song HERE!

With heartrending lyrics like couldn’t hear the alarm bells ringing, we never saw the danger signs, when misery comes calling, we’re at the mercy of mankind, “TLC” is sure to emotionally impact listeners.

“I wrote this song shortly after the Parkland shooting in 2018 as a means of processing the emotional weight of the situation,” Layla explains. “It was not meant to be a political song, but is instead meant to raise questions about our communities and our collective response to traumatic events. Though the song came from a specific historical event, I think it continues to be relevant and relatable – especially in our current political climate. This was one of the first tracks I sent to my producer, Jim, and it’s what started us off on the journey of making this record.”

“TLC” is the first track off of Layla’s fan-funded EP Postcard from the Moon. Recorded at the iconic Starstruck Studios on Music Row, the new album showcases her versatility as an artist, from an activist-fueled folk anthem, to a retro-soul slow jam, to a jazzy ballad serenading her inner muse. Every song is written with intentional artistry, taking twists that surprise her listeners — and even herself. The EP is expected to be released later this year.

About Layla Frankel:
Chicago native Layla Frankel doesn’t fit in a box, and she’s decided to stop trying. When she moved to Nashville in 2017, she realized she was too bluesy for the country artists, too “poppy” for folk – and she had more soul on stage than most Nashville audiences had seen before. Known for her distinctive “Soulcana” sound, an amalgamation of pop, folk, soul, rock and blues influences, Layla has managed to build up quite a fan base during her short time in Music City.

With humble lyrics like I may not be worth millions, but I’ll do the best I can, to bring you all the happiness, that your heart can ever stand, “From the Start” depicts a touching love story from beginning to end.

“To me, this song and recording process has been one of the most organic projects I have ever worked on,” Michael explains. “It is real and raw and everything that I intended it to be when I started writing it.”

About Michael Shaun Brown:

Born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, Michael Shaun Brown’s musical roots run deep. When you grow up a few miles from the birthplace of country music you tend to have the simple beginnings and the soul of country music in your blood. Brown left his home in Southwest Virginia in 2011 and made his way to Nashville to pursue his career in country music and hone his skills in songwriting and musicianship. He spent time writing and recording by day and performed in the Honky Tonk bars by night. He played thousands of shows and formed a Southern Rock/Alt country band called “Bone Feather,” which made two records and toured all over the country.

When the Pandemic of 2020 hit, Michael made the decision to relocate his family to the Midwest. Providing a more subtle environment to raise his daughter in, he now enjoys a more rural environment to write and record songs in.

MSB released his first single as a solo artist since 2015 on December 26th, with the heartfelt message to his new wife (Aaryn) titled From the Start. He wrote this song as a surprise to her on their wedding day, which also had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19. With a fresh and simple sound, Brown has taken a new direction in his artistry with this track, implementing the influences of his southern Appalachian roots while expressing his true emotions as a modern love song.

With despondent lyrics like the world outside keeps changing, locked inside this open room, through the coldest nights of December, tears from my eyes, make flowers bloom, “Night Resumes” paints a picture of noir, ending with beauty.

Night Resumes was originally conceived on a civil war fretless banjo in an old miner’s cabin just below the continental divide,” Dango explains. “This song shares a willingness to embrace winter isolation as an opportunity…for even whilst in a dance with shadow, the coming of the light will reveal itself anew, and flowers will bloom again.”

JOE BERK LAUNCHES “THE PANDEMIC TOUR” TO RAISE $1B FOR VH1’S SAVE THE MUSIC FOUNDATION

Nashville, TN (December 14, 2020) – Fast rising country artist Joe Berk embarked on his socially-distanced, fan-funded “The Pandemic Tour” today. He will be making stops in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Utah during the first leg, ending on 12/21.

“The Pandemic Tour” is completely fan-funded, with incentives like t-shirts, drink koozies, music video credits, unique experiences and more rewarded to donors. Joe will start off the campaign by donating 10% of all proceeds to VH1’s Save The Music Foundation, which partners with local communities and school districts to build sustainable music programs. Due to Covid-19, many schools have been forced to cut musical arts programs from curriculums, causing extracurricular activities like chorus and band to suffer.  The more money raised during “The Pandemic Tour,” the higher percentage donated – with an ambitious goal of $1B. If Joe achieves this $1B goal, he has pledged to donate 100% of all proceeds. If you’d like to contribute to “The Pandemic Tour” click HERE!

The tour, which will take place in open fields, driveways and front lawns, will be completely live-streamed, with footage being used in Joe’s upcoming music video for his song “Firsts.” Covid-19 precautions will be taken at each stop, where attendees will be encouraged to wear masks, remain at least six-feet apart and follow all CDC guidelines.

“They said Joe, you’re crazy…there’s no way you can just come up with an idea, plan a tour and set off on your journey with only five days notice,” he explains. “Well, I’m here to prove all the haters wrong and hopefully put the biggest smile on their faces when I get to their town! My goal is to make this the biggest live music event of 2020, and I’m not going to stop until WE make it happen. Just stay distanced, shout to each other and let’s show the world we can still have a party. Imagine something as sick as Fyre Festival, but it actually happens!”

About Joe Berk:
What is country music these days anyways? While the genre has in a way become genre-less, it has always meant one thing to Joe Berk – the story of your roots and what you grew up on. As long as the lyrics tell a great story, and you incorporate country sounds like banjos and pedal steel – that’s country music.

Known for his high intellect, ambition and extreme work ethic, Joe graduated from University of Michigan with a 4.11 GPA. He spent a year and a half working as a Big 3 Management consultant with McKinsey & Company, helping multi-billion dollar companies solve their toughest problems. After spending up to 80 hours a week working in cars, planes and hotel rooms, Joe realized it was time to move on and chase his true passion – music.

Drawing inspiration from R&B, Motown, Rock, and Hip-Hop, he has fused those elements with traditional country songwriting to develop a unique sound with witty lyrics and catchy modern hooks.

Joe’s debut single “Tie A Knot”, which has been featured on Detroit’s biggest country station, 99.5 WYCD, is a prime example, which tells the story of a relationship through all the little moments.

Over the past month, Joe has absolutely BLOWN UP on social media – accumulating over 1M total views on his videos, 10K followers on Instagram and another 5K on TikTok. He is also now working with some of the best Grammy-nominated producers in Nashville, TN, and is starting to receive features and reposts on some of the biggest social media outlets in the country music space (e.g., Yee Yee Apparel, which has over 350K followers on Instagram and is owned by country music star Granger Smith).

Joe released his most recent single, “A Guy’s Girl,” in October 2020, with the music video acquiring almost 8,000 views. Joe has been featured in various publications, such as MediumVents MagazineGrubs & GroovesMusic and Tour NewsDivine MagazineVolatile Weekly and more.
