ANNATHYST RELEASES NEW SINGLE “ALL NIGHT”

Nashville, TN (February 19, 2021) – Interstellar folk songstress Annathyst recently released her new single “All Night.” You can listen to the song HERE!

With bold and sassy lyrics like don’t hold me back now, cause your dark cloud, hides the light that I seek in the night, “All Night” is a song Annathyst wrote about not settling and finding the strength to break free from limitations and live your dreams.

All Night is a song I co-wrote with my producer, Julian Peterson, during a songwriting session,” Annathyst explains. “Inspired by a feeling of being stuck in my own life, I felt the night sky calling me to free myself from what was holding me back and run with the wolves.”

About Annathyst:
Originally from a different solar system, otherwise known as the backwoods of Michigan, Annathyst has never followed a traditional approach to music. Untamed by the structure of traditional music teaching, her interest in music often coincided with singing around the campfire with her acoustic guitar. But, it wasn’t until her early 20’s that she discovered that music was actually a necessity for her survival. Annathyst’s realization unfortunately came at a cost, when having to sing at her sister’s funeral; a moment that revealed to her the healing potential of her songs, hope in the midst of devastation. Ever since, writing music has led her to connect with something bigger, often calling it an “instantaneous transmission” – where songs seem to find her through a meadow wind, or when backpacking the Colorado Trail. In late 2019 she began working with producer/artist Julian Peterson of Wolf Den Records out of Colorado. The result was a set of songs, or transmissions, that expanded upon her raw sound into more interstellar places, though still retaining the faint scent of campfire. Her upcoming debut album “Fly Again” is a story of mending her broken wings after loss and learning how to fly again.

It was a simpler time, too,” Dango explains. “Most of these pieces were written in the autumn and recorded during the longest night of winter. The banjo, being an heirloom of the Civil War, maintained a sweet spot in between the key of B and C, falling naturally into a 432hz tuning.”

Dango released the first single from the album, “Night Resumes,” on December 18, 2020. It garnered press from the likes of Medium, Rock ‘N’ Load MagazineGrubs & Grooves, Volatile Weekly, The Mountain Ear, Music Update Central, Skope Magazine and more.

About Dango Rose:
Dango Rose embraces a passion for music as a vital healing influence and spiritual path. He creates and collaborates to support harmony and truth. Born with a poet’s soul and a warrior’s heart, his life’s journey has been one of transformation.

For seventeen years, Dango traveled nationally and internationally in touring bands. In 2006, he co-founded Elephant Revival and spent eleven years performing and recording with this influential outfit that pioneered the genre, Transcendental Folk. Rose penned band favorites like, When I Fall, The Pasture, Jet Lag Blues and others. Since Elephant Revival decided to go on hiatus in May 2018, Dango has taken refuge in the recording studio while focusing upon songwriting collaborations with various artists.  Here he melds his background in traditional forms with the more transformational elements of musical craft.  As journalist Marc Tonglen explains, “He reminds me of a cross between Leonard Cohen, Cat Stevens and Alan Parsons, while remaining deeply embedded in the progressive Indie-Folk scene.  His voice is distinctive, words penetrating and his arrangements — on the edge, yet engaging.”

LAYLA FRANKEL RELEASES NEW SINGLE “TLC”

Nashville, TN (January 15, 2021) – Nashville based singer/songwriter Layla Frankel recently released her new single “TLC.” You can listen to the song HERE!

With heartrending lyrics like couldn’t hear the alarm bells ringing, we never saw the danger signs, when misery comes calling, we’re at the mercy of mankind, “TLC” is sure to emotionally impact listeners.

“I wrote this song shortly after the Parkland shooting in 2018 as a means of processing the emotional weight of the situation,” Layla explains. “It was not meant to be a political song, but is instead meant to raise questions about our communities and our collective response to traumatic events. Though the song came from a specific historical event, I think it continues to be relevant and relatable – especially in our current political climate. This was one of the first tracks I sent to my producer, Jim, and it’s what started us off on the journey of making this record.”

“TLC” is the first track off of Layla’s fan-funded EP Postcard from the Moon. Recorded at the iconic Starstruck Studios on Music Row, the new album showcases her versatility as an artist, from an activist-fueled folk anthem, to a retro-soul slow jam, to a jazzy ballad serenading her inner muse. Every song is written with intentional artistry, taking twists that surprise her listeners — and even herself. The EP is expected to be released later this year.

About Layla Frankel:
Chicago native Layla Frankel doesn’t fit in a box, and she’s decided to stop trying. When she moved to Nashville in 2017, she realized she was too bluesy for the country artists, too “poppy” for folk – and she had more soul on stage than most Nashville audiences had seen before. Known for her distinctive “Soulcana” sound, an amalgamation of pop, folk, soul, rock and blues influences, Layla has managed to build up quite a fan base during her short time in Music City.

MICHAEL SHAUN BROWN RELEASES “FROM THE START”

Nashville, TN (December 30, 2020) – Southern Rock singer/songwriter Michael Shaun Brown recently released his new single “From the Start.” You can listen to the song HERE!

With humble lyrics like I may not be worth millions, but I’ll do the best I can, to bring you all the happiness, that your heart can ever stand, “From the Start” depicts a touching love story from beginning to end.

“To me, this song and recording process has been one of the most organic projects I have ever worked on,” Michael explains. “It is real and raw and everything that I intended it to be when I started writing it.”

About Michael Shaun Brown:

Born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, Michael Shaun Brown’s musical roots run deep. When you grow up a few miles from the birthplace of country music you tend to have the simple beginnings and the soul of country music in your blood. Brown left his home in Southwest Virginia in 2011 and made his way to Nashville to pursue his career in country music and hone his skills in songwriting and musicianship. He spent time writing and recording by day and performed in the Honky Tonk bars by night. He played thousands of shows and formed a Southern Rock/Alt country band called “Bone Feather,” which made two records and toured all over the country.

When the Pandemic of 2020 hit, Michael made the decision to relocate his family to the Midwest. Providing a more subtle environment to raise his daughter in, he now enjoys a more rural environment to write and record songs in.

MSB released his first single as a solo artist since 2015 on December 26th, with the heartfelt message to his new wife (Aaryn) titled From the Start. He wrote this song as a surprise to her on their wedding day, which also had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19. With a fresh and simple sound, Brown has taken a new direction in his artistry with this track, implementing the influences of his southern Appalachian roots while expressing his true emotions as a modern love song.

You can connect with Michael Shaun Brown on Facebook and Instagram.
