About Gareth Campbell:
Gareth Campbell discovered his passion for music in 4th grade when he started playing viola. He quickly discovered he had a musical ear and developed his skills until college. He took a break to study engineering and start a career. After spending years in engineering and automotive retail, he decided to pick up music again during the pandemic. Singing was something he always enjoyed, so he sought out the online classes that producer Justine Blazer was offering.

Justine extended the opportunity to write and record music at her studio (Ten7Teen). Nashville, TN (July 16, 2021) – Indie-Folk singer/songwriter Julia Cannon recently released her new EP entitled “Listening.”

With profound lyrics like will you fight for us like you’d be fighting for yourself?, the title track from the EP is a reflection of the heaviness Julia has felt over the last year.

“I decided to produce and mix this whole project over the course of this pandemic, with the idea that having something to work on would help me to process my grief,” Julia explains. “Little did I know that there would be so much grief to process. There were two deaths in my family and then the whole country witnessed the murders of George Floydand Breonna Taylor. This project became extremely cathartic and difficult to finish. At times, it was the only thing that I wanted to do and I obsessed as a way to cope.  Here, on the other side of the tunnel, I’m really proud of what I’ve created. I’m proud that I could make my pain into something beautiful. I hope you enjoy it.”

In May 2021, Julia released the first single off of the EP, The Shore. Growing up in Houston, Texas, Allison Asarch discovered her love for music at a young age. As a child, she would perform at her grandparents’ annual Christmas talent show, but it wasn’t until she reached 4^th grade that she knew she wanted to make a career out of it. “My music teacher, Ms. Teagarden, had everyone singing and smiling…including the boys! I loved the joy music brought to me and everyone else.”

Raised on powerhouse vocalists like Tina Turner, Shania Twain and Freddie Mercury, Allison began cultivating her own unique sound while attending Otterbein University’s School of Music in Westerville, Ohio. It was there that she began teaching herself how to play the guitar, while also taking piano lessons during her freshman and sophomore years. She was also a member of the school’s choir, training in classical opera and traveling to Ireland and Germany to perform.

In 2018, Allison moved to Nashville, Tennessee to start chasing her dreams. When the Coronavirus pandemic hit in early 2020, she seized the opportunity to start recording and releasing her own music. “Don’t Hold Your Breath (co-written with Sarah McSweeney) is a song about letting go of a toxic relationship – whether it be love, or in my case, a friendship,” Nick explains. “It’s a response to people that don’t hold you in a high regard. You’re giving and they are only taking. They emotionally drain you, so if they try to crawl their way back into your life, tell them don’t hold your breath. I was inspired by that catchphrase which was used in a very old Nickelodeon show called ‘My Brother and Me.’ The quote is the only part I remember from that show, as it was only 13 episodes. I have many nods to 90s television throughout my album.”

“I started writing The Incredible Shrinking Girl at a time when I was wasn’t writing a lot of songs,” Marion explains. “I had just transferred colleges, I hadn’t really made any friends yet, and I remember I was reading this book about the circus. One night, I was thinking about how cool all of the circus character names were. Then I thought: if I were in the circus, what would my circus character name be? And it hit me: The Incredible Shrinking Girl. My superpower, my special skill, was shrinking myself – making myself so small that even if I was special and perfect and incredible, no one could see it. I couldn’t let anyone see it. And that realization hurt. So I wrote down the name, kept reading, and pushed the thought out of my mind. But, The Incredible Shrinking Girl was something I kept coming back to. It became my alter-ego. Any time I made a mistake or made myself small or felt like I didn’t belong, that was who I was. Marion, The Incredible Shrinking Girl.”

About Marion Shaina:
Having grown up in a household without contemporary music, for every song her parents missed on the radio, Marion listened 3 times as hard. In the 8th grade, Marion picked up the guitar and hasn’t put it down since. Performing her original songs at the weekly open mic nights at Spoon Coffee House & Eatery in Lindenhurst, Long Island, Marion lived off of what she calls “the moment” – that first split second when someone suddenly stops what they are doing, looks up, and listens. Marion has their full attention. In that magical moment, she is able to create a connection. It’s like having her own personal superpower.

At the age of 18, Marion moved to Nashville, TN for college. She knew that any city labeled Music City was where she belonged – and Music City is where she has been ever since.
