JUSTINE BLAZER OVERCOMES HEARTBREAK WITH NEW SINGLE “TEARS OF BLUE”

“This song is a rockin’, bluesy anthem written by Lou Molitch and I,” Justine explains. “It’s about ‘us musicians’ having a love/hate relationship with the music industry. This song features Natalie Jean on vocals, Kitt Wakeley on piano and Kerry Adams on guitar. We love the music-making part and hate the industry aspect…but in the end, we can never get away.”

She continues, “We filmed this video in Printers Alley in downtown Nashville. Even when our videographer, Mexx Heart, was filming, we experienced what this entire song embodies! From getting yelled at by residents because ‘the music was too loud,’ to patrons mocking us – we experienced it all.  In the video, we tried to display four examples of some things we deal with on a regular basis: asking us to play for free and for exposure only, men trying to grab at us while we’re trying to head to a show, showing up to find the venue is closed, and having people making fun of us.  But, we love the music and have that passion. I hope people see the energy in this video and dig the song!”

“I’m so excited to be releasing my debut blues album,” Justine exclaims. “Girl Singing the Blues is my eighth studio album and I feel like this is some of my best work to date. Being originally from Detroit, I grew up around the blues, R&B and Motown. My parents listened to all the greats – Aretha Franklin, Martha Reeves, Mitch Ryder, The Temptations, Etta James and more! I actually started off in a blues band in Detroit with my brother in law, blues guitarist, Rex Mason. We actually won the Detroit Blues Challenge in the mid to late 2000s, but I ended up singing country music instead – which I have always loved, too!”

Justine produced, mixed and mastered this project in its entirety. JUSTINE BLAZER DEBUTS NEW BLUES SINGLE “BAD LOVE”

Nashville TN (July 15, 2022) – Multi-genre singer/songwriter, producer, recording artist and proud member of the Recording Academy (and a Grammy®️ Voter since 2020), Justine Blazer, recently released her debut contemporary blues single “Bad Love.” You can listen to the song HERE!

With relatable lyrics like ’cause you broke my soul, filled with despair, I thought you were the one that would always be there, Justine’s new tune is about turning a bad relationship into a positive lesson.

After attending the 64th annual Grammy ®️ Awards in Las Vegas, Justine was really inspired to follow her heart – which led her to the blues genre.

“This is my first blues single,” Justine explains. “This is a modern contemporary blues rock song. It’s sassy and has a lot of soul. I wrote this song with Tom Bender. I have been wanting to sing the blues since the beginning of my recording artist career, but never felt it was the right time until now. I actually started singing the blues around Detroit in the mid-to-late 2000’s. I won the Detroit Blues Challenge, but I had a local country promoter tell me not to go into blues because there’s no money in blues and there’s no way to market and make a career for a blues singer.  He was wrong!  Dead wrong! I am not doing this because of the money. It’s a calling. I have always loved the heart and soul blues music had. I am heart and soul. No denying that. This is just the start and I have a new blues album coming out early next year.  I am so excited for my current fans and followers to see what I have been working on and hopefully get some new fans along the way.”

She goes on to say “I am not leaving country music. I am just doing what my heart is telling me to do at this time.  Since Covid, I have realized time is not slowing down. Why am I waiting around? Do it now.  Here’s to a new chapter!”

JUSTINE BLAZER RELEASES “JOLLY” JINGLES WITH NEW HOLIDAY ALBUM

“Since by dad passed away in 2014, Christmas hasn’t quite been the same,” Justine explains. “But, this year, I decided my dad would have wanted this.  My dad was a professional Santa Claus.  He did that for 20 years and he loved Christmas. Throughout the pandemic, I have realized just how short life is and we need embrace all the moments.  This is the first year in a while where I’ve had true holiday spirit.  It’s been tough, but I wanted to do a project where I focused on what the Christmas and holiday spirit is truly about – family, friends and to be jolly!”

“I am so excited for my new music video,” Justine exclaims.  “As a GRAMMYS voter, Recording Academy member and industry mentor, I love to be hands-on. I directed, produced, mixed and edited this song and video myself. We (Justine Blazer, Myke Wilken, Meags Harper) shot the video at a vintage house in East Nashville.  We were going for a retro, 1970s vibe and it was so fun to live through the nostalgia. I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to work with CMT on this premiere.”
